Brenda Twigg - 2024 - Alexander & Houle Funeral Home (2024)

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday June 29th, 2024, Brenda Twigg of Chatham, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 years. Cherished daughter of the late Coy and Rose Blue. Beloved wife and best friend of Bill. Loving mother of Brad and his wife Julie of Chatham, and Becky and her husband Don of Chatham. Predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Anne Twigg. Proud grandma of Hunter, Braden, Addison and Camden. Dear sister of Mike Blue, and Jackie Skov (Alan), and survived by her nieces, nephews and extended family in the USA.

Brenda graduated from John McGregor Secondary School in Chatham, Ontario which led her into her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a medical records secretary. Brenda enjoyed communicating with friends on her iPad, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud with her husband Bill. On hot summer days Brenda could be found in her garden planting flowers or getting a suntan in her bathing suit all day. There was never a shortage of food or supplies in the house as Brenda loved making her grocery list from all the weekly flyers. Brenda’s love for nature included feeding the squirrels and birds in her backyard. Brenda was very set in her ways as she had particular way of doing things.

Brenda spent a great deal of time in the stands cheering her grandchildren on as they made her proud participating in many sporting events. Brenda was part of the St. Ursula’s Social Club. Brenda also participated in many community fundraising events whether it be for her children’s sports teams, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Brenda really was a special lady. We truly can’t think of anyone tougher. Brenda has always had a remarkable, infectious attitude about life. Despite being dealt a tough hand battling Scleroderma over the course of 31 years, she never complained, nor did she let it affect her and her ability to her life to the fullest. Special thanks to Dr. Don Hastings, Dr. Adams, Dr. Pope, Shelly Stroud, Bayshore, CCAC, VON and the staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
